Thank You Pittsburgh

Thank You Pittsburgh

Thank you Pittsburgh. Truly, thank you for your love, your guidance, and everything you've given me over the last 25 plus years. Too, thank you for being my home, for helping me learn and improve my photography skills. Also, for helping me be a better person and, of course, a better neighbor.

Wait, Is This Goodbye?

It may shock you to find out this way. But, at least for now, yes. This is goodbye. My amazing and talented wife has accepted an academic position in Atlanta. As such, it's time for me to finally fledge. So then maybe, rather than goodbye, let's say, I'll see you again soon.

We'll Meet Again

As Vera sang, "We'll meet again some sunny day!" of course this being Pittsburgh it'll likely be cloudy. That said, the clouds help us love and appriciate the sun so much more right. My mom and my sister both live near Pittsburgh so I plan to visit regularly. Too, my wife might be back next summer to teach here in Pittsburgh for a few months. If so, then I'll be back for that as well.

In addition, I'm still going to take on larger jobs here. So, if you're a client and you're worried about losing me as your photographer, please don't be. Just know that I'm only a call or email away. Of course, like I said, they'll need to be larger jobs to make it cost effective for both of us. That said, if you've got a need reach out. After all, I might be able to group a few shoots into the same trip.

Pittsburgh Photography Classes

Just like with my other clients I'll still be here for my students. While I might not be here to walk beside you as we take photos I'm always willing to answer questions or schedule a Zoom session. Too, I'm going to be offering more online classes.

Where Are You Going?

If you missed it above, my wife has accepted a job offer in Atlanta. As such, we'll be leaving on that midnight train to Georgia in August. We need to get settled in before she starts teaching.

Atlanta Bound

As much as I'll miss Pittsburgh. I have to say that I'm incredibly excited for this adventure. Truly. Atlanta is a beautiful city and I'm excited to explore it. In fact, I'm thinking of creating a YouTube channel just about my adventures there. At the very least I'll be sure to post some content to my existing YouTube channel.

I've already begun to reach out to photographers and other folks in Atlanta. It would seem that Atlanta is full of wonderful and kind people. So, it seems like I'll be in good hands. Plus, they have a lot of stuff happening. There are a number of other classes, meet ups, and more happening. Essentially, there's a lot going on in Atlanta photography wise and I'm excited.

Thank you Friend

Once again, I will miss you and all of my friends in Pittsburgh. After all, I've been here my entire life. Pittsburgh has taught me so much which is why I must say thank you Pittsburgh once more.

Thank You Pittsburgh

I mean this so deeply and sincerely, thank you. Thank you Pittsburgh, and thank you personally. If you're reading this then know that you've played a part. Even if just being part of the culture of this town, you've impacted my life in many positive ways.

Pittsburgh Lessons

Pittsburgh has taught me so much. First, that we're all neighbors and that we must take care and love each other. Second, that no matter who you are, no matter what you've done, you're still just one of us. As such, if you come here thinking you're better than everyone you won't make it far. Pittsburgh humbles people in a good way. We're all people and Pittsburgh reminds us of this.

More To Learn

Finally, not all of the lessons I've learned in Pittsburgh have been positive. After all, we've got a long way to go to live up to our ideals. We don't always treat everyone equally as neighbors.

We don't always welcome strangers like we say we do. I hope to see that change while I'm away. In fact, I really hope that this becomes a better town for everyone - especially Black and Brown Pittsburghers. So, I'm asking you all to work on that.

Hello Atlanta Georgia!

If you're reading this in Atlanta, then I've done a good job marketing myself to you all - LOL! Seriously though, I'm excited to meet you all. Or, as we say in Pittsburgh, to meet Yinz. So, if you're looking for a photographer in Atlanta then give me call, shoot me a text, or email me through my contact form. I can't wait to meet you!

Atlanta Photographer Community

As I said above, I've already talked to some really amazing photographers in Atlanta. Additionally, I've spoken or emailed with other really awesome folks. Atlanta has a vibrant photography education scene and I'm really excited to get there and learn more about it. Plus, I've emailed with a few very cool photography centers/groups. So, yes, I am really excited to see you Atlanta!

Finally, my wife and I are very excited to be a few hours from Savannah and Tybee Island. Tybee is our favorite beach vacation spot. We will be hitting up Tybee Island and Savannah as often as possible!
