This book is the first in a series covering essential facets of photography that every photographer needs to understand. It's practical and easy to follow. It includes explanations of how your camera works, the exposure settings that impact different aspects of your photos, and all the ways you can use these settings to create the exact photographs you want to make.
Fundamental Photography Techniques
These are the fundamental techniques that apply to every camera. They work for digital cameras as well as film cameras. In fact, they also work for phone cameras.
Publication Goals
This book and series of books will help you understand the foundational information that you need to know in order to take photos that look the way you expect them to before you press the shutter release button.
Straight From My Brain
There are so many e-books being published today. Too, many are being written by AI. As a result, a lot of these are virtually worthless. However, this book comes straight from my brain and my years of work as a photographer. As a result, you won't find a single word written by AI in this book.
Use of AI
That being said, for full disclosure, I used some AI in the illustrations. Of course, I kept that as minimal as possible. To be clear, I don't rely on AI to provide anything in the illustrations that I'm passing off as factual. Anything factual contained in the illustrations came directly from me.
Satisfaction Promise
Therefore, trust that this book is legitimate. In fact, I'm so sure that you'll learn what you need to know from this book that I'll happily explain anything you didn't understand for free. So, contact me if you have any questions after reading the book.
Additional Resources
Read this great companion article to this book on how to see tones to improve your exposure. Too, this article on exposure compensation is another one to check out after you've read the book.
Future Publications
This book, How To Use Your Camera Vol 1: Exposure is labeled as volume 1. This is because I'm planning to introduce more books in this series. In fact, the next book will be about focus, depth of field, and the settings you need to understand to get sharp photos every time.
