You don’t need to feel frustrated with your camera. Join me, professional photographer and photography teacher Don Orkoskey for this 4 week long informative and interactive online intro to photography class.
I’ll walk through all the important settings on you camera. Plus, I’ll tell you what they do and when you might need to use them.
Online Intro To Photography Class
Here is what you’ll learn in this 4 week long online intro to photography class:
Technical Aspects of Photography
We’ll discuss exposure settings, focus settings, and more. In addition, you’ll be able to ask a lot of questions and interact with me and your fellow students. The class size is limited so everyone has the opportunity to make sure they understand.
Artistic Aspects of Photography
In addition to the technical aspects we’ll discuss the artistic aspects of photography including: composition, framing, design principles such as line, shape and color, and storytelling.
Class Goals
Goal 1: At the end of this 4 week class you’ll understand all of the foundational information you need to succeed as a photographer (with additional practice). You’ll be able to solve problems, will feel more confident, and be comfortable using your camera. You’ll understand all of the important buttons, dials, and cameras settings.
In addition, you’ll be ready to use your camera with a far greater level of certainty and ease than you had before the class.
Goal 2: In this class you’ll learn how to create photos that tell the story you’re trying to tell and that do so in an interesting and compelling way. As a result, you and other people will appriciate your photographs more. Plus, you’ll want to continue taking photos feeling great about how you can create the exact look you’re expecting.
Goal 3: By the time this class finishes you’ll be ready for any next steps you wish to take. In other words, if you want to build specialized skills in any time of photography you’ll be ready to do so.
So, if you want to pursue a career in photography you’ll know what you’re doing with your camera. As a result you’ll only need to learn the business of photography and any specifics about the types of photography you’re interested in doing.
Alternatively, if you’re a hobbyist with an interest in birds or landscapes, you’ll be ready to learn advanced skills related to these areas of study.
Meet Your Instructor
My name is Don Orkoskey. I’m the owner of WDO Photography Pittsburgh. I have over 25 years of experience as a professional photographer in Pittsburgh, PA. Additionally, I’ve taught photography for over 18 years. In that time I’ve helped hundreds of students to learn how to use their cameras for a variety of subjects. In fact, many of my former students went on to work as professional photographers themselves! In addition to teaching photography classes online and in Pittsburgh, I’m a full time working photographer. I provide headshots, event photography, and more.
