Then join us at the first Pittsburgh Photographer’s Coffee Meetup! Are you a photographer in Pittsburgh? Are you interested in meeting up with other Pittsburgh photographers for coffee and to discuss how to collaborate, talk about the local photo industry, or even just to grab a drink and hang out? As a photographer in Pittsburgh for more than 25 years I’ve gotten to know a ton of other great Pittsburgh photographers. As such, I strongly believe that we’re better together. In fact, trying to go it alone in this town can break you. Join me, Pittsburgh photographer and photography teacher Don Orkoskey for my monthly nature photography meetup in Frick Park

Join me on June 18th at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden for my Backyard Bird Photography Workshop. Have you ever wanted to capture the beauty of the birds in your own backyard? Then join me, professional photographer, Don Orkoskey, for an introduction to bird photography. This workshop will focus on how to create or find areas that attract bird. Plus, how to set up a blind or otherwise disguise oneself so that birds feel comfortable coming close. Additionally, we’ll discuss lens choices and exposure settings for bird photography. Finally, we’ll discuss what NOT to do (i.e. teach birds to eat out of your hand). If you’re a birder, are interested in birding, or enjoy bird photography you’ll want to sign up today! Classroom discussion will be followed by photographing the many attractive birds found at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. Please bring a camera with a telephoto lens (200mm or longer), a tripod or monopod, a small notebook or larger hardbound notebook and writing utensil. The April Nature Photography Meetup Join me, pro photographer Don Orkoskey for the April edition of my monthly free nature photography meetups in Frick Park on April 14th Join the April Nature Photography Meetup in Frick to photograph budding flowers, amazing wildlife, and more! WHEN April 14th 2024 from 9:30 am to approx. 11:30 am. Please note, I will be there from start to finish but we’re never more than 15 minutes from the parking lot so you can leave at any time. Additionally, Frick is an amazing public park and you’re welcome to stay for as long as you’d like even after I’ve left if you’d like. WHERE Please meet us at the end of the promenade (around the benches) beyond the Frick Environmental Center at the entrance to the meadow. There is ample free parking in and around this area including a large lot under the solar panels and parallel parking in front of the gatehouses. The address is 2005 Beechwood Blvd. Pittsburgh, PA 15217. COST This event is free but donations are greatly appreciated. You can buy a ticket that includes a donation or donate at the event through cash, Venmo, or any other means you’d prefer.
