Atlanta Photographers Coffee Meetup

If you’re a working professional photographer in Atlanta, or aspire to be one please join us for the Atlanta Photographers Coffee Meetup. This is a casual networking event. Drink some coffee or tea, talk shop, and discuss whatever else you’d like.

Stop, Collaborate, and Listen

Meet other photographers, find ways to collaborate, and get to know each other better. Discuss photography issues in Atlanta and beyond, talk about emerging trends we’re seeing, trade information about marketing and promotion, business administration and taxes, location scouting, and a lot more.

Atlanta Photographers Are Better Together

It’s my strong belief that we’re better together. What does that mean? For me it means that we can learn from each other, support each other, and help move the local photography industry forward for the benefit of all Atlanta photographers.

Regular Networking Meetings

I’m planning on hosting monthly or at least quarterly coffee meetups. They give us a chance to meet each other, find ways to collaborate, and get to know each other better.

Additionally, please reach out to suggest dates or locations that work better for you for our next coffee meetup. Plus, this is something I’m interested in sharing ownership of. Therefore, if you want to organize a meetup, for coffee, a photography session, or anything else let me know. I’m happy to share the info and promote it.

Fees

I wish these meetups could be free. However, whenever it is free tickets (which are limited by the venue) end up being taken by people who don’t show up. In fact, they have registered for 5 or more tickets seemingly with no intention of attending. Therefore, I’ve added a ticket fee in order to get accurate counts for the hosting venue and to ensure availability for those who are actually going to attend. Thank you for understanding!

Venue Ideas?

Let me know if you have venue ideas. Finding coffee shops or other locations that can accomidate a group that can be as small as 3 of us or as large as 20 isn’t easy. If you’ve got a studio and want to host that would be great but even if you’ve just got some other ideas of where we can meet I’d love to hear them.

Atlanta Photographers

Back in Pittsburgh I created a website and directory of photographers that was publicly accessible. This allowed everyone to have a leg up on predatory websites like Thumbtack or Yelp which often show up in the top results. I’d love to collaborate with others who might be interested in doing this same thing here in Atlanta.

My name is Don Orkoskey and I’m the owner of WDO Photography. I photograph corporate and nonprofit events, offer headshots, and teach photography. I’m a bit new to Atlanta and I can’t wait to meet you all on the 19th!

From Pittsburgh To Atlanta

I moved from Pittsburgh to Atlanta in August when my wife accepted a professorship here. I used to run similar meetups in Pittsburgh. Past meetups in Pittsburgh resulted in some really great collaborations, advice on book-keepers and accountants, and leads for new clients. It was a really helpful event that spurred collaboration and friendship. As such, I’m looking to do the same here in Atlanta.
