March 21 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am EDT
Join me, pro photographer Don Orkoskey of WDO Photography, for this monthly nature photography meetup in Piedmont Park. This is a free event open to everyone regardless of photography skills.
Everyone is welcome. Join us, no matter your skill level, age, or type of equipment. Meet other photographers, nature lovers, and enthusiastic friends as we explore the incredible nature and wildlife in Piedmont Park. Photograph plants, animals, fungus, or anything else that grabs your attention.
No experience is necessary, newbies are welcome as are working professional photographers.
We Begin promptly at 9:00 am
Please be early or on time as we begin right at 9:00 am. Meet us in front of the Dockside Visitors Center at the 12th Street entrance (by the wayfinding signs). If the Farmers Market is happening look for us in that general area.
What To Expect
We’ll venture around Lake Clara Meer and Clear Creek and photograph birds, squirrels, flowers, and loads more. The last few months we’ve seen a lot of amazing stuff including capturing a heron on the lake and a lot of songbirds along the Beltline.
Nature Photography in Atlanta
Nature photography in Atlanta is fun and easy. We’re blessed with amazing parks and wild areas. Plus, there are a ton of resources to help you get started as a photographer and to keep you going including the Atlanta School of Photography.
The Atlanta forest coverage helps birds and other wildlife to survive even in the heart of the city. If you love nature and want to begin to photograph it or to learn how to do so better then join us!
A Love Of Nature
My love of nature is a big reason I host these meetups. I started in 2021 as a way to socialize safely during the pandemic. Today, they’re still a great way to meet other people interested in nature and photography. Plus, they’re perfect for learning more about our local ecosystem, photography, and each other.
About Your Host

In addition to all of that I love wildlife and nature conservation and find nature photography relaxing and fun. You can learn more about me on my website.
