Don Elected Secretary of ASMP Pittsburgh Board

Update as of 12/21/2023: As of today I have resigned as a board and general member of the Pittsburgh chapter and ASMP as a whole. The values that I hold dear, fairness, equality, freedom of speech, and community no longer align with those of ASMP. Therefore, I can no longer be a member and have resigned. Due to privacy concerns I will not answer any questions about this resignation or the events that lead to me leaving beyond saying this:

I truly believed that ASMP was committed to the rights of free speech and to advancing the photography industry for all photographers. After witnessing troubling incidents I no longer believe that and, as such, I cannot remain a party to this organization.

During my time with ASMP I met a number of truly amazing photographers including many that I still consider to be friends. I wish them and every other member that chooses to remain all the best.

Original post: I'm excited to announce that I've been elected Secretary of the ASMP Pittsburgh Board of Directors. ASMP, the American Society of Media Photographers, is a trade organization that helps connect clients with photographers across the country. The Pittsburgh chapter's mission is to:

To grow a vibrant, inclusive community of media professionals in the Pittsburgh region, to elevate the quality and value of our field for all creatives.

I'm join an incredible group of fellow photographers with some really ambitious plans for our organization and the local Pittsburgh photography industry more generally.
