Abstract Nature Photography Workshop Join me at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden on July 23rd for my celebrated Abstract Nature Photography Workshop! Make magical photos in a beautiful garden setting. I’m, Pittsburgh nature photographer and photography teacher, Don Orkoskey. Don’t miss this incredibly fun experimental abstract nature photography workshop! Come use your camera like never before. If you’re feeling limited or like you’re playing it safe with your photography, then this workshop will set you free. On the other hand, maybe you’re interested in photography – or nature photography specifically – but aren’t sure where to start. In either case, this workshop will break the mold and provide a unique foundation for innovative nature photography. All experience levels are welcome. For this class, you need to bring a camera (you too, phone photographers), and are encouraged to bring any filters you may have – especially special effect filters (prism, Black mist, etc.), small mirrors or other ‘obstructions’ which can be used to add to the image. Join Pittsburgh photographer Don Orkoskey of WDO Photography for the July edition of his monthly nature photography meetup in Frick Park. Create incredible photos of nature with me, Pittsburgh photographer and photography teacher Don Orkoskey of WDO Photography. Join me for my monthly nature photo meetup in Pittsburgh’s incredible Frick Park. This urban park is home to an abundance of animals, plants, fungi, and more. It’s impossible to not create a bunch of amazing nature photos at these meetups!   ABOUT THE NATURE PHOTO MEETUP This and all of my events are open to everyone regardless of skill level, age, or type of equipment. In addition, those with mobility issues are always welcome as there are lots of opportunities here to see nature from level, paved areas. In fact, the Parks Conservatory are in the process of constructing a new, fully accessible area which will make the park even more welcoming. Speaking of welcoming, everyone is welcome at these and all of my meetups, workshops, classes and tours. Backyard Bird Photography Workshop

Join me on June 18th at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden for my Backyard Bird Photography Workshop. Have you ever wanted to capture the beauty of the birds in your own backyard? Then join me, professional photographer, Don Orkoskey, for an introduction to bird photography. This workshop will focus on how to create or find areas that attract bird. Plus, how to set up a blind or otherwise disguise oneself so that birds feel comfortable coming close. Additionally, we’ll discuss lens choices and exposure settings for bird photography. Finally, we’ll discuss what NOT to do (i.e. teach birds to eat out of your hand). If you’re a birder, are interested in birding, or enjoy bird photography you’ll want to sign up today! Classroom discussion will be followed by photographing the many attractive birds found at Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. Please bring a camera with a telephoto lens (200mm or longer), a tripod or monopod, a small notebook or larger hardbound notebook and writing utensil. Members $60  |  Nonmembers $75 Program suitable for adults and children age 16 years or older.
